Meet the Founder
I have spent my career inside retail transformation, not watching it from the sidelines.
Jennifer Hansen Founder and Director, Retail Revolution Co
For more than 13 years, I worked at the centre of a rapidly evolving international retail business, helping grow, transform and navigate it through some of its most significant periods of change.
During my time with Daiso Industries, predominantly as General Manager, I worked across retail operations, buying, IT and marketing, while also holding responsibility for compliance and privacy.
When I began, the Australian business had fewer than 10 stores. At its height, the network had grown to more than 47.
Growth was only part of the story.
Behind those store numbers was the much harder work of building a business capable of supporting that growth. New systems. New ways of working. New technology. New expectations from customers and teams. And challenges that rarely arrived neatly one at a time.
I led and contributed to significant change across the organisation, from brand development and a major rebrand to self-service technology, training systems, product strategy and operational processes.
Taking an international idea and making it work in Australia.
I also led the introduction of Daiso's sister brand, Standard Products, to Australia, bringing a new international retail concept into the local market and creating a unique dual-brand store combining Daiso and Standard Products.
It was an opportunity to take a concept developed internationally and determine how it could translate into the Australian retail environment. Throughout my time with the business, I worked closely with international corporate stakeholders and the local distributor, balancing the expectations of a global brand with the commercial and operational realities of the Australian market.
Transformation rarely happens under perfect conditions.
Then came a period that tested almost every aspect of retail leadership at once.
I helped lead the business through COVID-19 while navigating a merger at the same time. It reinforced something I had learned repeatedly throughout my career: transformation rarely happens under perfect conditions. In fact, it often happens at the worst possible time.
There are competing priorities. Legacy systems. Commercial pressures. People who need leadership and clarity. Customers who still expect to be served. And through all of it, the business still needs to operate.
Transformation is not successful when the strategy is approved. It is successful when it works in the real world.
Why I founded Retail Revolution Co.
That experience became the foundation for Retail Revolution Co.
I founded Retail Revolution Co because I believe retailers need more than a strategy or a presentation telling them what needs to change. They need practical transformation that works in the real world.
They need someone willing to work alongside them to make that change happen.
Someone who understands the strategy, but is equally comfortable getting into the detail. Someone who can see the bigger commercial picture while understanding what a decision will mean for the people implementing it. And when things get difficult, someone who is prepared to be in the trenches alongside the team, solving the problems that inevitably emerge.
From the shop floor to the executive level.
I understand retail from the shop floor through to the executive level. I understand the relationship between people, systems, operations, technology, brand and customer experience.
Most importantly, I understand what it takes to turn an ambitious idea into something that can actually work across a business.
Retail Revolution Co brings that experience to retailers ready to evolve, strengthen their operations and build businesses designed for what comes next.

Work With JenniferCapability
Three pillars, covering what a business needs to understand a market, enter it and operate in it.
Market Understanding

Pillar 02Business Efficiency
Process design and documentation, system selection and implementation, buying and trading structures, training and capability, compliance process, project delivery and standing operational support.
Pillar 03Market Entry
Market research and commercial modelling, positioning and range for a new market, regulatory and compliance clearance, channel and distributor development, and launch through to a trading business.
